Rules

We use the following house rules for all our The Guild activities. Participants will be asked to follow these house rules and can be asked to leave once they have broken them.

Unofficial rule: Be nice to each other β™₯️.

This informal rule should largely already cover any of the other rules. With this rule in mind, you should have nothing to worry about, for all the other rules are based on this. (This rule is informal because it is very subjective)

1. Listen to the board.

Should a board member ask someone to be more quiet, stop a certain action, or ask them to leave a certain activity, then this instruction should be respected.

2. No discrimination.Β

Whether during an activity, or in one of our social media platforms, and whether on the basis of age, handicap, heritage, clothes, identity, sexual orientation, etc, discrimination will not be tolerated.

3. Maintain a safe space.

We ask members to be mindful of topics that may seem inappropriate or could impact the sense of safety. If a conversation topic is met with discomfort or hesitation, we ask that this be acknowledged and the subject respectfully set aside.

4. No one can push someone to act against their will.

No part of an activity is ever mandatory, so members shall not be pushed to do certain actions against their will. This does not apply to board instructions like being more quiet or stopping a certain activity.

5. No one can explicitly try to spread hatred.Β

Publicly declaring a strong dislike for someone or something is always allowed. What isn’t allowed is doing this with the explicit purpose of trying to spread hatred through the community.

6. The Guild is an alcohol-free and drugs-free club.

We ask members not to bring alcohol or (non-medical) drugs to activities. Of course you can still order any drink you like should we be at a cafe or restaurant without exclusive catering. Should you bring alcohol to an activity, we will ask you to keep it in your bag during the activity and to not consume or distribute it.

7. Your belongings are your responsibility.

As a small board busy with the activity at hand, we can not also keep an eye on the items that you might bring along. Should an item be lost, then we of course would happily help searching for it after an activity is over. (In the worst cases we will also help with a potential police report)

8. We (of course) follow the law.

Apart from these rules, we always follow the law. This means that illegal substances, sexual harassment, violence, intimidation, etc. in the club are all of course not allowed. Potentially breaking the law will always lead to us informing the police and will likely lead to a ban. (Accusations of non-prosecuted law breaking outside of a The Guild activity may not apply to this rule)

Don’t be like this criminal!
